No comments, Apr 08, 2009“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline.”
(Proverbs 1:7)
Jesus, the last thing I want to be is a fool. I don’t despise wisdom.
I don’t, that is…except when doing the wise thing appears to interfere with what I would much rather do.
God help me.
As for despising discipline? Guilty as charged.
I know You only discipline me for my own good, because You love me. But most of the time when you “love” me like that, I hate it.
Please help me with this, too. That’s not who I want to be.
The good news is, I do fear Your discipline…which must mean I fear You.
I hope so.
Because according to this verse that enables me to at least begin to understand the amazing things You want me to know.
