When a man asks a woman to marry him

and she says yes

they enter into a sacred contract with each other
before You.

They’re not married – not yet.
They are not to enjoy the rights of marriage – not yet.

But they’ve made each other a life-altering promise
each is counting on the other to keep.

Do some people break their engagement?

Yes.

But even though I fail You ten billion times before that great wedding celebration in heaven

You never will.
