Lazaroo – August 23, 2011

Aug 23, 2011 I Lazaroo.

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with bulldog ferocity:

“Watch out that you do not lose what you have worked for…”
(2 John 1:8)

You’re scaring me, Jesus.

To think I could spend my lifetime serving You

paying prices
doing without

confident that all the while I’ve been laying up treasure in heaven…

and then with the finish line in sight

do something that would cause me to lose it all?

No way.

No way in this world!
I’m not going to let that happen.

It doesn’t matter what temptation Satan parades under my nose.
The size of his bribe will not move me one fraction of an inch.

It doesn’t matter what unrealized

secret desire

he suddenly produces.

I’m not going to turn traitor on You.

I’m not going to turn my back on the bedrock decision I’ve made

to follow You
come what may

to the very end.
