Lazaroo – December 16, 2011

Dec 16, 2011 I Lazaroo.

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in utter amazement:

“The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.”
(1 Timothy 1:14)

I know You love me, Jesus…
but I’ve seldom thought of it the way this Bible passage puts it:

Love is in You.

And not just any old love, either –

not some wimpy, barely-there version of love
not the on-again/off-again variety
not mere emotion
not the self-serving kind
not “scratch my back/I’ll scratch yours”

but radical, no-holds-barred, real love –

the love that made You abandon Your throne in heaven
and took You all the way to the cross

the love that reached down into the depths of my despair
and rescued me when I wasn’t worth shooting.

That love.

Since that love is in You
and You are in me

is the amazing love I have to share.
