Wow, Jesus.

Your mom was a human being, just like us.

Well, almost like us.

None of us has ever done what your mother did –

experienced a virgin birth
bore the unjust accusation of adultery to her death
had the inexpressible joy of nursing the Savior of the world
guided the steps of the LORD of the universe as You grew up
watched helplessly as her Son was crushed by the sins of the whole world.

Your dad

is God.

Except that You were reared by a stepdad

whom everyone falsely assumed was your real father.

You spent every day of Your life on this earth under a cloud of unjust, suffocating suspicion.

And still

You gave Yourself for us.
