Lazaroo – Friday, August 3, 2012

Aug 03, 2012 I Lazaroo.

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud…smiling in gratitude:

“How the cattle moan! The herds mill about because they have no pasture; even the flocks of sheep are suffering.”
(Joel 1:18)

That must have been some drought, Jesus.

It’s one thing for cows to run out of pasture. They’re “luxury grazers,” preferring grasses that are lush and mature, down in the lowlands.

They’re picky, too – leaving grass untouched if it’s too close to a manure patty. In a pinch, they’ll eat plants that are bad for them.

But sheep?

It’s like You created them to do well in tough times.

They’ll eat immature grasses and weeds.
They’ll climb hills to find food.

They need a lot less water.
They’ll even eat snow in winter –

which most cows won’t.

And if the grass is good…
a sheep will graze right up close to a cow patty. 😉

In these tough times

I’m grateful to be one of Your sheep.
