Lazaroo – Friday, September 17, 2010

Sep 17, 2010 I Lazaroo.

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with no-holds-barred surrender:

“You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy.”
(Hebrews 1:9)

That’s You, isn’t it, Jesus?

You don’t just like righteousness.

You love it!

Doing what is right thrills You.

When You see me doing the right thing

it thrills You even more.

Nor do you merely dislike wickedness.

You hate it!

You never have – and never will – do anything wicked.

When You can tell I detest the evil things You despise

You love it even more.

The world I live in often makes fun of people who do the right thing.
Many in my world are intrigued by people who do the wrong thing.

But in so doing

they miss Your inexpressibly sweet “oil of joy.”

I’ve missed a lot in my lifetime, Jesus

but don’t let me miss that.
