Lazaroo – Monday, August 8, 2011

Aug 08, 2011 I Lazaroo.

Seek the wisdom of God as you pray aloud the words of this Lazaroo:

“The king and his nobles were pleased with this advice, so the king did as Memucan proposed.”
(Esther 1:21)

Wrong reason, Jesus.

Just because advice is pleasing
doesn’t mean I should follow it.

Sometimes the advice I want to hear
isn’t the advice I need to hear.

Sometimes the sweetest words
bring the bitterest results…

while taking to heart an unwelcome warning
can spare me untold grief.

But here’s what blows me away about You, LORD:

Even though this king acted for the wrong reason

he got the right result!

You were in the whole thing.
You’re the one who made it happen.

You worked within the self-serving agendas of these leaders

to lift a young woman from obscurity to power –
putting her in the perfect position
to rescue Your people.

O God.

Please do that for me!

Take even my blind blunders

and turn them into holy genius.
