It’s awesome to be chosen, Jesus…

by You.

Every time I’m passed over my others

it hurts.

But the pain of rejection goes away when I fully contemplate what it means

to be one of Your chosen.

In that moment, I become the ultimate insider

a dearly-loved member of Your family
granted a home in heaven where I’ll live forever.

I can call on You day or night

and You’re always there.

No matter who attacks or what happens

You’ve got my back.

All of that and so much more

totally trumps every slight
I’ve ever endured.
