Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in humbled faith: 

“See, he is puffed up…”
(Habakkuk 2:4)

You’re right, Jesus –

that one is pretty easy to see.

People who are puffed up stick out

because they want to be noticed.

They pound their chests
point at themselves

list their accomplishments
just in case we overlooked them.

They’re full of themselves

rather than full of You.

They’re hard to stomach.

They want us to look at them…
but all we want to do is look away.

The problem is, I’ve been puffed up myself – 

sometimes by boasting I’m not the kind of person
who gets puffed up.
