Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with total transparency:

“…be self-controlled…”
(1 Peter 1:13)

This doesn’t sound very much like a suggestion, Jesus.

It has more of the flavor
of a command.

If someone else had come up to me and barked out this order

I might take offense.

But it’s You –

my Creator
my Savior
my LORD and my God.

You have every right to tell me what to do
to correct anything in my behavior.

So.
Am I controlling myself?

100%?

Or are there one or two chinks in my armor

that I might need to address?
