Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with faith-filled determination:

“…be all the more eager to make your calling and election sure.”
(2 Peter 1:10)

What fascinating, motivating instruction, Jesus.

People who talk about “calling and election” act like it’s a done deal.
If I understand it at all, I’m sure they’re right.

If You’ve called me to be one of Your followers
then I’m among “the called.”

If You’ve elected me to receive salvation
then I’m one of “the elect.”

Case closed.

Well…except for the fact that on this side of heaven You haven’t yet allowed me to take a peek at those books that will be opened one day, before Your great white throne in heaven.

So until that amazing day when I stand before You
when my faith become sight –

Your advice to me is to live like somebody
who knows for a fact that my name is written

in Your book of life.
