Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with anticipatory insider information!

“So the two women went on until they came to Bethlehem. When they arrived in Bethlehem, the whole town was stirred because of them…”
(Ruth 1:19)

That’s not the last time Bethlehem would be stirred, is it, Jesus?

This time it was because of Naomi.

But 1,100 years later, Bethlehem would be stirred again, wouldn’t it?

Once again, two people would enter their town
and the one – Mary – would be carrying inside her a third:

You.

How much more would the little town of Bethlehem have been stirred

if when Ruth entered
they realized she was also carrying You inside her?

Their Messiah, the Savior of Israel and the whole world
Your great, great, great – many times removed – grandmother?

Today, I can only shake my head at what I know…

that they didn’t.

Would I too be stirred…

If I realized Who was truly inside
every Christian I meet?
