Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with total transparency:

“Know that the LORD has set apart the godly for himself…”
(Psalms 4:3)

Well when You put it that way, Jesus…

I want in.

Of course, that entrance requirement –

godliness

stretches me a bit.

If in the annals of understatement there was ever a contender for Top Ten

that was it.

“Stretches me a bit?”

Make that:

overwhelms me
intimidates me
terrifies me.

To be “godly” means to be like You!

I’m not exactly in the habit of having the people who know me best look me in the eye and say:

“You sure remind me of Jesus”

although I wish they could
…and be honest.

The good news is I was created in Your image –

which definitely gives me a shot.

But with my sins, I’ve sprayed graffiti all over Your image.

By the power of Your indestructible Life within me
guess I’d better start scrubbing.
