Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in humbled wonder:

“God is our witness.”
(1 Thessalonians 2:5)

Yes, Jesus:

You…are my witness.

Knowing this both terrifies me –

and gives me comfort.

It makes me sick to my stomach to face the fact that You know every wrong thing I’ve ever

thought
spoken
done.

Well, that is…You used to – until, by Your amazing grace

You deliberately chose to forget them –
every single one!

But the fact that You are my witness is also of enormous comfort to me.

Others judge me harshly

when I fall short
make mistakes
try and fail.

But not You!

You know my heart, my motives.
You know how badly I want to please You.

So long as by faith I keep confessing, battling my sins
setting my heart right before You…

then one day when I’m brought before the Judge of all

it will be Your testimony

that sets me free.
