It’s hard not to try to manipulate, Jesus.

I want events to unfold a certain way.
I’d like people to do and say specific things.

But when I arrange all the dominoes so they fall just right

when I insert a little something here
drop a tiny hint there

I pollute the process.

Ultimately, it ruins it for me

because I know down deep
it isn’t real.

Help me let go of the reins and trust You, Father!

You know infinitely better than I
what I truly need.
