Are You serious, Jesus?

People were doing junk like that
all the way back in the beginning –

misquoting leaders
misleading Christ-followers

leveraging good people’s fears
for their own influence and gain?

When Solomon said there was nothing new under the sun

he wasn’t kidding.

Why do they do that?

Why do false teachers and hidden-agenda leaders
try to hitch a ride on the beauty of what You’re doing?

At the very least, why don’t they get their own gig?

It’s because there’s nothing like Your Church, isn’t it?

Nothing like Your love

Your power
Your plan through the eons of eternity.

But they have one more blind spot, don’t they?

They have no fear of You.

Sadly for them…

in due time
that will change.
