“Proclaim further: This is what the LORD Almighty says: ‘My towns will again overflow with prosperity, and the LORD will again comfort Zion…’”

You’ve comforted me so many times, Jesus!

Comfort me again.

For some reason, I don’t seem to stay comforted.

Not Your fault.
Mine.

You’d think after all You’ve done for me

all the promises You’ve made to me
all the times You’ve intervened in my behalf

that by now I’d know everything’s going to be all right.

You are my –

Savior
Defender
Protector
Rescuer
Restorer

Mighty God!

But let the next challenge come ‘round the bend

and there I go again –

terrified
crying out to You
my stomach in knots

needing fresh reassurance

longing to hear Your promises repeated
aching to receive Your comfort all over again.

When will I ever learn?

You’ve never deserted me.

You’re not about to start now.
