Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with dogged determination:

“The angel went to her and said, ‘Greetings, you who are highly favored!’”
(Luke 1:28)

I’d love to hear that just one time, Jesus.

To be told the way I’m living my life

the way I’m following You
the way I’m treating others

is pleasing to You.

Of course, I’m going to take a wild guess and conclude there’s a very good reason why You haven’t sent any angels to tell me that.

I’m not there, yet.

It’s not like this comes as a shock to me.

I’m flunking by my own standards
let alone Yours.

There are people who are mad at me
openly critical of me

for good reason.

I am one deeply flawed
piece of work.

But for all that, I’m not giving up.

Your love, mercy, power and grace are too great!

And my desire to hear from Your lips “well done”

drives me on.
