Lazaroo – Saturday, February 25, 2012

Feb 25, 2012 I Lazaroo.

Allow God to move on your heart, as you pray aloud the words of this Lazaroo:

“Later when the anger of King Xerxes had subsided, he remembered…”
(Esther 2:1)

Until I saw this verse I don’t think I realized this, Jesus:

Anger affects my memory.

When I’m angry, it’s hard to remember the kind things I intended to say or do.

My judgment is impaired
I lose perspective
my words become harsh.

When I get mad at someone, it’s difficult to remember all the good they’ve done. I tend to

distance myself
think the worst of them
not listen to their explanations

discount their strengths
question their motives
want nothing more to do with them.

When I’m furious with someone for wronging me I forget all about my own sins

totally overlooking the fact that I’ve wronged others
most of all – that I’ve wronged You.

Thanks for reminding me of what anger does to my memory.

I guess I forgot.
