It’s great to be greeted, Jesus…

even better to be greeted by name.

Usually.

Sometimes, though, I don’t want anyone to greet me
don’t want anyone to recognize me or know my name…

when I’m hurting so badly
that I just want to curl up in a ball and die

or when I’ve blown it so completely
that I’m ashamed to show my face.

But on top…on bottom…

or below the bottom…

You see me.
You know me by name

and You envelope me in Your ferocious, unquenchable, unrelenting love.
