Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in humble awareness:

“‘Though you soar like the eagle and make your nest among the stars, from there I will bring you down,’ declares the LORD.”
(Obadiah 1:4)

I needed this, Jesus.

When I see people You have so graciously blessed

fail to recognize the Source of their success
and become so full of themselves that they falsely conclude
they have achieved all this and reached these lofty heights on their own

it’s hard to watch
it’s almost more than I can bear.

If only they would acknowledge You!

If only they would step back, humble themselves and realize they have nothing

that has not come from Your hand.

Then You would not have to topple them from their precarious pedestal.

How the mighty are falling!

Please help me learn from their tragic fate

and may I never, never – ever!

forget that every one of my blessings

comes from You.
