Those are the toughest offerings to present, Jesus –

the ordinary ones.

Special offerings?

Hey – no problem.
Easy to get up for those –

lots of excitement, passion, adrenaline.
Single-minded focus for a short burst of time.

The daily stuff…same-ol’/same-ol’…

that’s what burns me out.
nothing different day after day after day

after a while, I forget why I’m doing it
don’t want to do it anymore.

But that’s where the battle is won, isn’t it?

not under the spotlight
but in the dim, thankless trenches

when nobody but You
is looking.
