Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in humble caution:

“The mighty man will become tinder and his work a spark; both will burn together, with no one to quench the fire.”
(Isaiah 1:31)

Oh, Jesus.

I don’t want that to happen to me!

And it won’t, will it? –

so long as I don’t fall into the trap of mighty men
and begin to believe my success comes from myself

instead of You

so long as the ultimate purpose of my life’s work
is to please and honor You

rather than myself.

But it’s not only mighty men who fall into those traps, is it?

It’s puny ones, too.
