Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with courage renewed:

“Do not be terrified by them…”
(Jeremiah 1:17)

Easier said than done, Jesus…

but possible.

You never tell me to do something I can’t do.

If it’s bigger than I am, You’re right there with me
doing what I can’t.

Come to think of it, no wonder You tell me not to be terrified –

what a slam that is to You.

You’re all-powerful
and You’re right here!

No matter how dark the alley I’m entering
no matter who’s in wait for me, lurking in the shadows
no matter how strong they are
No matter how important they are
no matter how sophisticated their weaponry
no matter how many there are

if You tell me not to let them terrify me
then with Your help, I can obey that command because of what I know:

I have You.

Now and forever…

I am safe.
