Lazaroo – Saturday, October 13, 2012

Oct 13, 2012 I Lazaroo.

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, forewarned:

“…they will be consumed like dry stubble.”
(Nahum 1:10)

What a terrible, frightening image, Jesus!

I’ve seen dry leaves, tiny sticks, bits of grass
dropped into a roaring fire

burned up in seconds

the wind sometimes carrying their glowing ash
high into the air

the last, fleeting proof
they once existed.

What an awful way to end a life!

to become such a liability to those around me
that You’re forced to jerk me off the scene
before I reach my potential.

I don’t want to go out like that!

Thanks to You, I don’t have to.

You don’t issue such stark warnings to ruin my life

but to save it.

Like a Father who warns his daughter not to run out in the street
vividly describing what can happen to her if she disobeys

You’re not trying to give me nightmares
but save me from living one.
