Lazaroo – Saturday, October 6, 2012

Oct 06, 2012 I Lazaroo.

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud…in total awe:

“His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance.”
(Revelation 1:16)

That’s bright, Jesus.

I can’t even gaze at the sun
without going blind.

All I can do is steal a sweeping glance
then look away.

And that’s from 93 million miles away.

Much closer
and I’d be incinerated.

When You came to earth to live among us
no wonder You had to come as a human being!

If You had come as You are
none of us would have survived.

But it’s not really that Your face shines like the sun

The truth is
the sun shines like You

because You made the sun.

You’re not a reflection of the sun

the sun is a reflection –
a pale one, I’m sure –

of You.

All of that is glorious

but given who You are
hardly surprising.

What’s surprising is that one day

I will shine like You.
