Lazaroo – Saturday, October 8, 2011

Oct 08, 2011 I Lazaroo.

Allow yourself to be overwhelmed with wonder, as you pray aloud the words of this Lazaroo:

“We pray this so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him…”
(2 Thessalonians 1:12)

How does that work, Jesus?

I understand everything I do is supposed to bring

to You.

That’s only right.
You deserve it – and so much more.

But it gives me spiritual whiplash to think of the reverse.

Why would You ever want to bring glory

to me?!!!

I know everything You do is right.

But this doesn’t seem right.

You know what I am.
You know what I’ve done –

and I’m not talking about my glowing achievements!

I’m talking about the things I’ve done
to disgrace Your Name.

It blows me away to realize You’ve completely forgiven my sins.

But the idea that You intend to share with me some of the glory that belongs only to You…

makes me go tilt.
