When I get down – really down –
Nothing anyone says can lift me up.

I have a negative answer
for every word of encouragement they offer.

My glass isn’t half-empty…

it’s down to a single drop
that just evaporated.

There’s no joy, no happiness, no laughter.
Everything feels bleak, empty, hopeless…

until I turn to You.

Not carelessly…thoughtlessly…perfunctorily…
but with all my heart.

Only You can rescue me

restore me
lift me up.
