Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with burning emotion:

“Therefore, this is what the LORD says: ‘I will return to Jerusalem with mercy, and there my house will be rebuilt.’”
(Zechariah 1:16)

O Jesus.

You whispered this promise in Zechariah’s ear just three years before You fulfilled it

439 years after Solomon built the first temple
371 years after the first temple was destroyed
518 years before You were born in a manger
588 years before the second temple was destroyed

and how many years before You will once again return to Jerusalem with mercy

and the third temple is rebuilt?

Because that’s what You clearly predict will happen.

Maybe soon.

For centuries, the very idea of a third temple was ludicrous.
The Jews had been kicked out of their homeland.

In 691, the Muslims built the Dome of the Rock
on the site where Your temple once stood

It’s still there.

For now.
