It’s hard to keep doing the right thing when it doesn’t pay off, Jesus!

I’m tempted to quit.

But that wouldn’t be persevering, would it?

It would show that I’m not doing the right thing because it’s right
but only for what I can get out of it.

I’ve got to keep doing the right thing

every day
come what may

not for what I can get out of it

but for You

secure in the knowledge that You see my perseverance

and my reward is in Your hands.
