Lazaroo – Sunday, February 26, 2012

Feb 26, 2012 I Lazaroo.

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with utter abandon:

“…he must be…one…who is holy…”
(Titus 1:7-8)

You’re the one who’s holy, Jesus…

not me.

How can I even begin to think of myself in these terms?

You know who I am
what I am

You know what I’ve done
and failed to do

You know how far short I’ve fallen

and how many times.

Worse yet

You know how many more times I’ll

do wrong
fail to do right
fall short.

There are times when I’m so disgusted with my behavior that I can’t stand myself.

At such times I don’t know why You put up with me.

But You’re not telling me being holy is an option.
You’re not hinting that it’s an unlikely long shot that would be nice.

I must be holy –

not an option
a requirement.

All right.

That means with Your help

it’s doable.
It’s a legitimate goal.

That certainly changes my perspective.
