I, too, have land to enter, Jesus –

the promises You have yet to fulfill
my dreams unrealized
my hopes currently dashed
my desires unmet
my plans not carried out
my fervent prayers unanswered.

I refuse to give up!

Not because I know better than You
not because of mere stubbornness
not because You owe me anything

but because the moment I throw in the towel and relinquish them

I may as well be dead.
