Lazaroo – Sunday, January 6, 2013

Jan 06, 2013 I Lazaroo.

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in worshipful awe:

“…the weakness of God is stronger than man’s strength.”
(1 Corinthians 1:25)

What a powerful statement, Jesus!

But what about You could possibly be called “weak?”

In reality, nothing.

But to some, so much of what You did and taught appears to demonstrate weakness.

You didn’t come to this earth with pomp and circumstance.
You came in poverty and obscurity –

a baby lying in an animals’ feeding trough.

You didn’t build an army and train Your followers to fight.
Instead, You taught us to turn the other cheek.

You didn’t teach us how to get even with those who wrong us.
Stunningly, You taught us to forgive them and do them good!

But most offensive of all to these people
was Your humiliating death on the cross –

not realizing it was only through that seeming “weakness”

that sin’s greatest power would be forever broken.
