Lazaroo – Sunday, July 11, 2010

Jul 11, 2010 I Lazaroo.

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with utter abandon:

“I hear about…your love for all the saints.”
(Philemon 1:5)

That’s a tall order, Jesus –

to love all the people on earth who claim You as their Savior.

Unlike the church who met in Philemon’s home

I’m not exactly famous for love of this magnitude.

I want to love all Christians everywhere…

but I’ve got my hands full
just trying to love all the people who claim to be Christians

in my own family
neighborhood
church.

Some of them are real doozies.

If Philemon and his buddies had run across this bunch

I’m not so sure Paul would have ever heard of their love

“for all the saints.”

Still…

that’s what You command me to do
not because they’re easy to love
not because I feel like it

but because anyone You loved enough to die for

is worthy of my love too.
