Lazaroo – Sunday, June 5, 2011

Jun 05, 2011 I Lazaroo.

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with heart abandoned:

“Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart. The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; may the name of the LORD be praised.”
(Job 1:21)

Those words give me goose bumps, Jesus.

The moment I hear them
I know they’re right –

not only for this humble man
who lived thousands of years ago –

but these words should come from my lips…
from my heart.

Oh, I can say them…sing them…

thoughtlessly.

But when I consider what it cost this man not just to say them
but to mean them

I feel the fear knot up in the pit of my stomach.

It cost him everything:

his health
his relationship with his wife
all his possessions
his reputation with his closest friends
the lives of all his children
even what he thought he knew about You.

Are You worth that much to me?
