Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with burning zeal:

“…they brought the boy to Eli, and she said to him, ‘As surely as you live, my lord, I am the woman who stood here beside you praying to the LORD.’”

Is there anything sweeter, Jesus?

My guess is…not much.

To have a God-given longing like Hannah’s
so desperate that it

fills my every waking moment
defines my existence

a longing that appears unattainable
unless You work an outright miracle.

And then You do.

Great God, You do!

What would I do with myself, then?

I would have spent most of my life up to that moment
on the needy side of the equation

trying to believe
but never quite making it.

What is there in my life that matches that longing, Father?

Do I know the answer to that question?

Or full of doubt…

have I buried it so deeply that I haven’t a clue?
