Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with zeal for change:

“You have made men like fish in the sea, like sea creatures that have no ruler.”
(Habakkuk 1:14)

We are like that, Jesus!

We human beings don’t want anybody telling us what to do.

When they try, we figure out ways to go

over them
under them
around them
through them

or to overthrow them –

which is sometimes good!

Leaders who attempt to block the spread of Your gospel may as well know:

Their days are numbered.
You won’t tolerate their tyranny.

On the other hand…

our desire to throw off all controls
can be disastrous.

When we refuse to consult Your Word before we act

don’t bother to pray before we decide
skip the step of gathering wise, Godly advice

we saw off the limb we’re standing on while we beat our chests

declaring our independence.

O God.

Give me a heart to submit

to You.
