Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with over-the-top trust:

“And they praised God because of me.”
(Galatians 1:24)

That’s goal #2, Jesus:

for others to praise You
because of me.

I do want my life to bring You praise!
I do.

But that’s not goal #1.

Pleasing You
Is goal #1 for me.

Sometimes it’s a twofer:

1. I please You
2. Others see it, approve and praise You as a result.

But it doesn’t always work that way.

Sometimes the two are mutually exclusive:

1. I please You
2. Others see it, disapprove and curse me as a result.

Case in point: It was the religious leaders who had You crucified.

1. You pleased Your Father.
2. They saw it, disapproved and demanded Your execution.

You’ve pointed out to me in no uncertain terms:

If they treated You that way

what makes me think I can call myself Your follower
and expect to be treated differently?
