Lazaroo – Thursday, January 27, 2011

Jan 27, 2011 I Lazaroo.

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in bumfuzzled awe:

“In the beginning, O Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. They will perish, but you remain; they will all wear out like a garment. You will roll them up like a robe; like a garment they will be changed. But you remain the same, and your years will never end.”
(Hebrews 1:10-12)

When I look up into the starry expanse of a nighttime sky

and realize the universe is actually getting bigger while I watch
expanding faster and faster and faster

it’s easy to imagine You’re doing this
because You created me to live forever, Jesus –

to give me plenty to see and do
with unlimited time.

But no.

Everything I now see is only a first rough sketch

that You’re about to throw away! –

the barest hint of the masterpiece

that is to come.
