Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in humble awareness:

“I pray that now at last by God’s will the way may be opened for me to come to you.”
(Romans 1:10)

You’re the One who creates the opening, Jesus.

There are things I long to see happen

places I would love to go
people I pray to see changed
opportunities I desire to seize
relationships I ache to restore
experiences I would be thrilled to enjoy
actions I am chomping at the bit to take

But not one blessed thing is going to happen unless You say so.

I can’t force it.

I know.
I’ve tried.

It just blows up in my face.

It’s a helpless feeling to be forced to face my powerlessness

until I realize

the only doors You shut
are the ones whose times have not yet come

or

the ones where a lion crouches on the other side
ready to eat me alive.
