Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with growing excitement:

“…trying to find out the time and circumstances to which the Spirit of Christ in them was pointing when he predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow.”
(1 Peter 1:11)

That’s Your promise, isn’t it, Jesus?

It doesn’t stop with the suffering.

While I’m experiencing

pain
sorrow
rejection
loneliness
hatred
bereavement
disaster
intense stress
worry
sleeplessness
failure
shock
crushing disappointment
checkmate

it feels like it will never end.

But it will.

You’ve shown me the way:

When I suffer according to Your will

refuse to quit
refuse to turn on You
refuse to give in to my baser temptations

there will be “glories” to “follow.”

You love it when I hang on like a bulldog for You!
You love my faith-inspired tenacity!

You love knowing I’m standing strong
because I’m confident You’ll come through for me!

And you absolutely will not

let me down.
