Soberly pray aloud the words of this Lazaroo to God: 

“I will prepare your grave…”
(Nahum 1:14)

Nobody wants to hear that, Jesus:

You make it sound like death is coming soon.

Well…I take that back – some people don’t seem to mind:

those in great physical suffering
people who are deeply depressed
those who can’t get over the loss of a loved one

people who like to preplan.

But hearing that You’ve just sent the gravediggers out

would hit most of us like a kick to the stomach

although maybe a swift kick is what I need to get cracking

because like it or not, life is short.

For all of us
death is coming incredibly soon.
