How many times have I tried to quote Scripture
but couldn’t remember the chapter and verse location

then finally had to resort to –

“It’s in the Bible somewhere…”

Finally!

I have Scripture that proves it’s okay for me to omit the reference –

even when I can’t remember which book of the Bible it’s in
or who said it.

After all, those book names, chapters and verses were added later, weren’t they?

In the beginning
it was just Your Word

dictated by You
handwritten by your apostles and prophets
pure and simple.

Bottom line?

You’d a whole lot rather I do what You tell me to do
than remember the exact place I was reading

when You told me to do it.
