There’s never any excuse for the sins we commit, Jesus.

I know that.

We can’t claim ignorance.

You’ve given us consciences
put eternity in our hearts
stuck the truth right in front of our noses.

We can’t claim, “The devil made me do it.”

Your power made freely available to us
is infinitely greater than Satan’s.

All we have to do is resist him
and he has to leave.

Even so…

when someone puts a stumbling block in our path
tempts us to go the wrong way
does their best to lead us astray

You hold that person accountable.

They’ve cooperated with Satan

made his job easier
made ours harder.

Help me identify the sin-starters around me!

Give me the courage
to steer clear

and drop them from my life.
