It’s hard to do something that’s never been done, Jesus!

Just when I think I’ve come up with a unique thought
I learn of someone else who’s been thinking the same thing

or who wrote a book about it a hundred years ago.

At times it feels as though everything I try

has been tried before.

But You are the God who still does new things!

You created me one-of-a-kind

which means the more I become who You created me to be

the closer I come to making a mark

that has never been made before.
