Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in dumfounded awe:

“John, To the seven churches in the province of Asia: Grace and peace to you from him who is, and who was, and who is to come, and from the seven spirits before his throne.”
(Revelation 1:4)

Oh, wow, Jesus.

Just when I think I’m getting to know who You are

You plunge me into delicious, head-spinning mystery

of “seven spirits” before Your throne!

Later in this incredible Book of Revelation, You reveal that

You “hold” them.

They are

“the seven spirits of God”
“the seven blazing lamps”

(Is this why You told Moses to set seven lamps in the Most Holy Place?)

But stunningly…

they are Your “seven horns and seven eyes…sent out into all the earth.”

Whew.

I’m not even going to pretend I understand what all that means.

But because I want all of You

and that’s Who You Are

send Your seven spirits

to me.
