Lazaroo – Tuesday, January 18, 2011

Jan 18, 2011 I Lazaroo.

Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, heart wide open:

“…their neighbors assisted them with articles of silver and gold…”
(Ezra 1:6)

I’ve gotta ask, Jesus…

what were You thinking as people brought these gifts?

At first glance, it looks like the people who gave You gold
loved You more than those who gave you silver.

Maybe.
But not necessarily.

What if one of those gold bowls was brought by a person who owned a hundred others?

Giving You one of them might not be that big a deal to her.

By contrast, what if the silver pan somebody gave You was the only one she owned?

My guess is that gift would mean far more to You!

Unless, of course…

the first woman gave You her favorite gold bowl
and the second woman despised the silver pan she brought.

Wow.

So much for judging by outward appearances.

I don’t know nearly as much as I think I do.
