Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, with the heart of a true Christ-follower:

“Anyone who runs ahead…”
(2 John 1:9)

I know You prize people who show initiative, Jesus.

Some people don’t care enough to do anything.

They’re flat-out lazy.

Others are so afraid to make a mistake

that they’re paralyzed
unable to take action

even when action is desperately needed.

They’re not about to stick out their necks, for fear it will get chopped off.

True…that’s a legitimate concern!

But the last thing You want is somebody who sits on the stool of do-nothing.

You’re looking for people who are

proactive
ready to step up
willing to make it happen

courageous risk-takers willing to lay it all on the line.

But for all that…

You don’t want me to run ahead of You.

You’re telling me to take initiative

in keeping with Your Word
sensitive to Your timing

with deep consideration and respect for Your people.
