Pray the words of this Lazaroo aloud, in determined dedication:

“I prayed for this child, and the LORD has granted me what I asked of him. So now I give him to the LORD. For his whole life he will be given over to the LORD.”
(1 Samuel1:27-28)

What a generous declaration, Jesus!

But I’ve made a few of those…

that didn’t stick.

It’s one thing to give myself to You in this amazing moment, in this rush of emotion, out of a heart overflowing with gratitude.

It’s another thing entirely to say it

and stay it.

Sometimes I say too much in the moment.

By that, I don’t mean I could ever promise You

more than You’re worth!

Nor do I mean I might promise You

more than I can deliver.

All things are possible with You!

What I mean is:

It’s all too easy to promise You more than I will

faithfully
consistently
deliver.

Help me.
Please.
